Main parts of centrifugal pump
The pump shell has two kinds of axial and radial split. The shell of most single-stage pumps is volute type, and the radial split shell of multistage pumps is generally a ring shell or a circular shell.
Generally, the inner cavity of the volute pump shell is a spiral liquid channel, which is used to collect the liquid thrown out of the impeller and guide the diffusion tube to the pump outlet. Pump housing to withstand all working pressure and liquid heat load.
The impeller is the only working part through which the pump works on the liquid. There are three types of impeller types: closed, open and semi-open. The closed impeller is composed of a blade, a front cover plate and a back cover plate. The semi-open impeller is composed of a blade and a rear cover plate. The open impeller has only blades and no front and rear cover plates. Closed impeller efficiency is higher, open impeller efficiency is lower.
The function of the sealing ring is to prevent the internal and external leakage of the pump. The sealing ring made of wear-resistant material is mounted on the front and back cover plates of the impeller and the pump shell. It can be replaced after wear.
One end of the pump shaft is fixed with the impeller, and the other end is installed with the coupling. According to the size of the pump, bearings can be selected rolling bearings and plain bearings.
Shaft seals generally have two kinds of mechanical seals and packing seals. General pumps are designed to fit both packing seals and mechanical seals.
